Lansing, MI -- This morning, Rick Snyder, joined by his family and supporters, filed the ballot petition signatures required to appear on the ballot as a gubernatorial candidate with the Secretary of State’s office. The campaign gathered well over the maximum 30,000 signatures, with all of Michigan’s 83 counties represented, more than any other campaign to date. Rick personally delivered all but a few hundred of the 30,000 signatures this morning and the remainder will be submitted later today and on Monday.

“The incredible amount of signatures we gathered shows that voters are looking for fresh leadership with a vision and plan to reinvent Michigan,” said Rick Snyder. “The ability of our campaign to gather so many signatures ahead of schedule clearly demonstrates the strength of our message and organization.”

The campaign is currently enjoying a similar success in its online and social media strategy, with Rick’s Facebook fan page leading the field with over 18,000 fans. Rick is also hosting economic town halls across the state on the campaign’s Reinvent Michigan Tour. He has shared his 10-point plan to reinvent Michigan in front of crowds of several hundred at town halls in communities like Gaylord, Kalamazoo, Sterling Heights and Royal Oak. The campaign is also recruiting hundreds of citizens to step up and address the lack of leadership by running for precinct delegate and even the state legislature in the ‘Run with Rick’ program.

“As we’ve traveled the state during our Reinvent Michigan Tour, voters are interested in my experience creating jobs and consistently express dissatisfaction and frustration with career politicians. We are constantly reminded of the broken political process and lack of leadership in Lansing. I’m running for Governor and asking others to step up because we can’t afford to continue down the path we’ve been led. A new Michigan requires new leadership in Lansing with common sense solutions and a commitment to delivering results. It is time for us to work together to remove political roadblocks that cause our businesses and families frustration and instead harness our state's innovation. I’m grateful for the support of so many Michiganders who are working hard to usher in a new era of innovation in Michigan.”
