Snyder Campaign Launches Online Mobilization Effort Called Rick’s Innovation Network

Ann Arbor, MI -- Today the Reinvent Michigan team announced the latest expansion of its online campaign entitled Rick’s Innovation Network (RIN). RIN is a first-of-a-kind suite of online tools designed to empower Rick’s supporters to engage with the campaign, spread the word about the campaign through the web and social networks and to expand the reach of Rick’s 10-point plan to Reinvent Michigan.

“Rick Snyder has been a world leader in technology and innovation. Everything we do online reflects his thought leadership and far exceeds the conventional use of technology in politics. While other candidates’ presence on the web is merely a digital brochure, we are committed to delivering a world-class technology platform that provides substance, while engaging and rewarding our supporters for taking action,” said Jake Suski, Communications Director.

Rick’s Innovation Network represents a unique opportunity to leverage technology in order to build the campaign at a grass-roots level. This campaign is about bringing Michiganders together across the board to reinvent our state. RIN is also a unique way to showcase Michigan’s capacity for innovation.

“This an exciting piece of technology which will better help us empower citizens to spread the word about our effort to reinvent Michigan. We’re using cutting-edge technology to build our campaign and engage supporters,” said Rick Snyder. “I’m proud that we designed and are hosting RIN here in Michigan. It is a product of Michigan innovation and a testament to our state’s potential.”

Through Rick’s Innovation Network, supporters can import contacts to e-mail friends, family and co-workers, create their own web page to show their support and promote fundraising, send letters to the editors of local and national media outlets, dial potential supporters in their area, as well as directly Facebook and Twitter their support and call-to-actions. RIN also tracks supporter accomplishments and rewards them through leader boards and prizes from the campaign’s e-store.

The use of RIN has already proven to be successful. At last years Mackinac Republican Leadership Conference, the campaign tested an earlier version of the RIN, the results of which played a role in Rick winning the straw poll among GOP candidates.

To celebrate the launch of this network, the first five users who accumulate 100 RIN points will each be awarded a ticket to the upcoming Republican Party gubernatorial debate at MSU.
