Ann Arbor, MI -- In response to today's Public Policy Polling poll that shows Rick Snyder leading the GOP competition in the race for Governor and the strongest candidate for the general election, the campaign released the following statements:
"Rick Snyder is clearly the strongest Republican candidate in the race and the best positioned to win in the fall," said former Republican National Committeeman Chuck Yob. "As a strong conservative that appeals to moderate and independent voters, Rick has the strength to win the general election and bring new leadership to Lansing."
"Rick is the only candidate who has created jobs and has a real plan to turn around Michigan's economy," added Sam Cummings, the campaign's West Michigan Chairman. "As voters decide which candidate to select, they are going to recognize Rick as the only candidate who has the resume and relevant experience to tackle Michigan's economic challenges and reinvent this great state. Rather than hire another politician to be the next CEO of Michigan, it's time for a business leader who knows how to solve problems."
"There is one candidate ready to lead Michigan through our economic crisis," said Evan Weiner, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Edw. C. Levy Co. "This election has the potential to be transformative and Rick is the only candidate running who can put Michigan on the path to greatness again. He's been ahead of the curve in the private sector, a proven innovator, entrepreneur and leader. Voters deserve a candidate who will put do the same for our state."
"Voters are still just getting to know Rick Snyder and the more they hear, the more they like," said Joe Fitzsimmons, campaign treasurer. "In the next two months, voters will learn more about how Rick has built innovative small businesses, guided the growth of a Fortune 500 company and led economic development efforts in the state of Michigan all to create jobs. They'll hear about his plan to reinvent Michigan and turn around the economy. We're confident that momentum will continue to carry the campaign towards victory."
