Campaign Also Launches Cutting Edge GOTV Tool: "One Chance Voter Bomb"

Ann Arbor, MI -- Today, the Rick Snyder for Michigan campaign released its final television commercial for the primary. The 30-second spot, called "One Chance," begins running today in every media market in the state on broadcast and cable and will continue to air through August 3rd. Featuring Bill Ford, Executive Chairman of Ford Motor Company, the ad shows voters a collage of concerned citizens who emphasize the importance of this election and the leadership Rick Snyder offers to Michigan.

"One Chance" is available online in broadcast form and on the Rick for Michigan YouTube page.

Bill Ford, great grandson of Henry Ford, endorsed Rick Snyder in late September of 2009 and has served as the campaign’s senior counselor. The campaign is proud to have his leadership on the Reinvent Michigan team and his involvement in the campaign’s final television push before the primary.

“On the heels of the remarkable turnaround Ford Motor Company is going through, we’re extremely pleased that Bill Ford is publicly making a strong pitch for Rick’s candidacy and our effort to reinvent Michigan,” said campaign spokesman Jake Suski. “He understands the type of bold and visionary leadership Michigan needs from its next governor and we are proud to have the support of one of the leading innovators in the state.”

The final ad features several of the citizens who have endorsed Rick Snyder over the past few weeks. To view videos or read about those individual endorsements, please visit Citizens for Rick. The campaign also launched Common Sense for Michigan last week, chaired by former Congressman and gubernatorial candidate Joe Schwarz, as an effort to appeal to Independents and Democrats who are willing to cross-over and vote for Rick Snyder in the GOP primary on August 3rd.

"One Chance" ad script:

"One Chance Voter Bomb"

To build on the momentum of the final media push, the campaign also announced the launch of the online grassroots voter turnout tool, "One Chance Voter Bomb.” This broadly targeted Voter Bomb follows last week’s successful launch of the “Common Sense Voter Bomb” that was specifically aimed at getting Independents and Democrats to pledge to bring like-minded supporters to the polls.

"One Chance Voter Bomb" is a call to action for all supporters to commit to bringing friends, family, co-workers and any other Michiganders concerned about the direction of the state out to vote in Michigan’s Primary Election on August 3rd. Supporters will be able to easily forward information to their network of contacts and drive Rick’s message of Reinventing Michigan. Senator Scott Brown successfully used a “Voter Bomb” in the final days leading up to his victory in Massachusetts.

“As we head into the last week of the primary campaign, our team will continue to leverage cutting-edge technology that has proven successful in driving voters to the polls,” said Suski. “We hope to receive 30,000 commitments from supporters to take their friends, family and co-workers to the polls next Tuesday from this effort alone.”

Last week, the campaign announced the endorsements of Governor Milliken, the Michigan League of Conservation Voters, Republicans for Environmental Protection and former Congressman Joe Schwarz.
