Rick Wins Kent County GOP Straw Poll!

Rick Snyder won the Kent County GOP Straw Poll Thursday night, defeating his competitors by earning 44.26% of the votes at the dinner attended by over 700 Republican activists. Rick Snyder issued the following statement in response:

“Our campaign continues to defy conventional expectations and these results prove that fresh leadership with experience in job creation and economic development is exactly what voters are looking for. I am proud to have the support of so many Kent County Republican activists and pleased that we have built such a strong organization,” said Snyder. “Over the coming months we will continue to strengthen our campaign, capitalize on our momentum, and present innovative reforms and sound policy solutions like ‘Value for Money’ budgeting to the citizens of this state so that we can reinvent Michigan together.”

Kent County Straw Poll Results:
Rick Snyder: 44.26%
Mike Bouchard: 28.94%
Pete Hoekstra: 22.45%
Mike Cox: 3.52%
Tom George: 0.91%
