Rick Snyder continues to outperform expectations by winning the Oakland County GOP Straw Poll this morning at the “Pancakes and Politics Breakfast” hosted by the 9th District GOP. Rick Snyder issued the following statement in response:

“The economy is clearly the number one issue on the minds of Republican activists across the state. The support we’re earning is a sign that my economic credentials, fresh ideas and bold vision for Michigan are being well received by our party,” said Snyder. “Voters are recognizing that career politicians aren’t the answer for Michigan’s broken government and economic challenges. Across the state, our campaign will continue to challenge conventional politics and share substantive solutions that will help us reinvent Michigan.”

“Additionally, I’d like to thank Glenn Clark, 9th District GOP Executive Committee Chairman, Oakland County GOP Chairman David Law and Oakland County Clerk Ruth Johnson for their leadership in putting together a wonderful event.”

Oakland County Straw Poll Results:

Rick Snyder: 271 votes
Mike Bouchard: 137 votes
Pete Hoekstra: 101 votes
